Maura High was born in Wales and now lives in Carrboro, NC, where she works as a freelance copyeditor. Her poems have appeared in various poetry magazines, including Tar River Poetry, New England Review, and Southern Review. Her chapbook, The Garden of Persuasions, won the Jacar Press 2013 Chapbook Contest. Maura is a member of the Carrboro Poets Council.
