Athletic Facilities
Ballfields in Carrboro
Carrboro is home to seven well-maintained ballfields located throughout town, supporting a variety of athletic leagues and community sports programs. Fields are available at:
- Hank Anderson III Park
- Wilson Park
These fields are primarily used for youth and adult athletic leagues, including baseball, softball, and other field sports. Availability varies by season, and field use is scheduled and coordinated through the Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Resources Department.

Carrboro Basketball Courts
Carrboro is home to four basketball courts located throughout town. These outdoor courts are for recreational leisure and do not serve as league play locations. Courts are available at:

- Wilson Park
- Brewer Lane Park
Availability varies by season, and use is scheduled and coordinated through the Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Resources Department.

18-Hole Disc Golf at Hank Anderson III Park
Hank Anderson III Park is home to a scenic 18-hole disc golf course, perfect for players of all ages and skill levels. Whether you're new to the sport or a seasoned player, the course offers a fun and challenging outdoor experience in a beautiful natural setting.
The Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Resources Department also offers Youth Disc Golf Clinics, designed for parents and children to learn together. These sessions cover rules, etiquette, throwing basics, and helpful tips and techniques.

Fishing at Hank Anderson III Park
Hank Anderson III Park features a stocked fishing pond, offering a peaceful spot to cast a line and enjoy the outdoors. A scenic walking path circles the pond, with plenty of quiet spots perfect for a picnic lunch or simply relaxing by the water.
In addition to casual fishing, we also host Fishing Clinics—a great opportunity to learn the basics or improve your skills with guidance from our staff. Multipurpose Fields in Carrboro
The Carrboro Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Resources Department offers three multipurpose fields located throughout town, perfect for a wide range of athletic activities. These fields are ideal for:
- Ultimate Frisbee
- Soccer
- Lacrosse
- Field Hockey
- Football
- And more!
Whether you're organizing a team practice, pick-up game, or community event, our fields provide flexible space for recreation activities.

Tennis & Pickleball Court Reservations
The Town of Carrboro offers public access to six tennis courts across two locations:
- Hank Anderson III Park – 2 courts
- Wilson Park – 4 courts
Courts are available for both tennis and pickleball play. While courts are generally open for walk-up, first-come, first-served use, priority is given to players with valid reservations.
Notice: Tennis Court Reservation Fees Effective July 1, 2025
The Town of Carrboro Recreation, Parks & Cultural Resources Department would like to inform the community that beginning July 1, 2025, tennis court reservations will no longer be free of charge.
As part of the approved fee schedule for Fiscal Year 2025–2026, the following rates will apply to all court reservations: $20.00 per hour for Orange County residents, $26.00 per hour for non-residents

Horseshoe Pits at Hank Anderson III Park
Hank Anderson III Park features eight tournament-quality horseshoe pits, perfect for both casual games and competitive play. The Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Resources Department hosts three annual tournaments: the Spring Open, Summer Hot Stob, and the Fall Classic. Coming Soon: Carrboro’s First Asphalt Pump Track!
Martin Luther King Jr. Park will soon be home to Carrboro’s first-ever asphalt pump track, with an anticipated opening in May 2025. This exciting new feature is being developed in response to challenges with the previous dirt track, aiming to provide a smoother, more durable riding experience for all ages and skill levels.
The Town has partnered with Nature Trails for the design and construction of the upgraded facility. We can't wait to see community members out on their bikes, enjoying this new addition to the park!
