  2. Toddler Preschool Playtime

    August 22, 2017, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Carrboro Century Center - Century Hall

    Parents and young children (5 & under) can come enjoy some unstructured playtime in the spacious Century Hall. There will be music to dance to, blocks, crawl tunnels, and other toys to play with and plenty of space. It will be a great opportunity to meet new friends and playmates. No registration required.   3. Youth Disc Golf Clinic

    This youth disc golf clinic gives parents and children the opportunity to learn together about the sport of disc golf including rules, etiquette, the basics of throwing discs, and tips and techniques. All discs provided! Parents and youth must both be present to participate. Instructor: Matthew Smith Pre-registration through Carrboro Recreation & Parks is required. Ages 6-15

  5. 4th Annual Latin American Festival - Carrboro

    El Centro Hispano, Inc. presents, for the fourth year in a row, its successful Latin American Festival in Carrboro-Chapel Hill, a celebration of cultures, rhythms, traditional food, and much more. In a vibrant atmosphere of cultural diversity, music, food, arts and crafts, art, and folkloric dances. Just like the year before, there will be music groups, folkloric dances, activities for children, traditional food, arts and crafts sales, business information and much more. The event will culminate with a huge Zumbathon with two hours of Zumba party and five magnificent instructors to promote physical activity. Everyone is invited! We look forward to seeing you! The Latin American Festival is an event for children and adults and is free for the entire family.

    The committee shall: Review zoning amendment requests and special and conditional use permit applications for developments within the Northern Transition Area and make recommendations on the same to the board of adjustment or board of aldermen, respectively. Use the studies above as the basis of its development of, and recommendations for, additional policies, objectives, goals, plans, ordinances, and administrative actions that will preserve and enhance that special character, and relate to its growth. Develop and recommend to the Board of Aldermen policies, ordinances, administrative procedures and other means for carrying out plans in an efficient and coordinated manner.
